Sensei Cecilia Kirkham

Instructor

Cecilia is a charismatic and dedicated instructor who currently holds the rank of Shodan. She began her karate journey at the age of 10 and has now trained for over 12 years. For the past two years, she has proudly carried the title of Sensei, sharing her knowledge and passion with others.

Cecilia has competed across Ontario, with experience at both the provincial and national levels in competition kata. She is especially passionate about helping students refine their kata—guiding them to develop performances that are not only powerful, but also uniquely their own.

Having spent many years working with the Little Warriors program, Cecilia has built a strong foundation in teaching young children. As she has grown in her role, she now works confidently with youth and adult students, continuing to inspire and support their development in karate.

Sensei Michelle Melanson

Instructor

Sensei Michelle has been practicing karate for eight years and earned her Black Belt one year ago through the Eastern Ontario Karate Association (EOKA) and the North American Karate Federation. She is a strong advocate for the mental health benefits of Karate-Do, drawing from personal experience to share how training can create meaningful, positive change from the inside out.

One of Michelle’s greatest passions is teaching in the Little Warriors program, where she finds immense joy in helping young students grow in confidence and skill.

In addition to her karate training, Michelle studies the art of Iaido, where she currently holds the rank of 7th Kyu. She continues to develop her skills under the guidance of Sensei Brad Baker of the International Iai Tate Do Federation.
